Stoke Climsland New Homes
The Village
Affordable Housing
|
| |
This village is a tight knit community with most of the residents on first name terms with each other.
Crime is relatively low, apart from a rock being thrown through a householders window, a number of drinking parties on the sports ground, and the post office window being kicked in. Hopefully isolated incidents but if Callington is anything to go by, now that they have installed CC TV, problems will be driven out of town to outlying areas.
We are to some extent protected by our single lane roads, which is an advantage in one respect , but any development in the village will add to the congestion on them and they are dangerous enough as it is.
A large number of people from outlying hamlets were in favour of this development, without their support the project would not have got off the ground.
As residents of the village, do we really want to see any further development here.
If the Duchy wants to be involved, they have land alongside the main road at Penpill; could the build not be done there?
They will have easy access to the main road for commuting and will avoid putting any further strain on our village infrastructure
Has any investigation been made on the results of Affordable Housing elsewhere?
What happened to the Affordable Housing projects in Callington?
Before anything is even considered, Planning must put the village and its inhabitants first, or is that irrelevant to the Land Trust.
